The Last Good Friday of St. John Paul II

On Good Friday, 2005, Pope John Paul II watched the Stations of the Cross from his private chapel at the Apostolic Palace. Too ill to preside over the stations at the Colosseum, he asked to hold a crucifix. The story of that crucifix, and the ailing Pope who would die just a few days later, is worth reflecting on this Good Friday, 21 years later.
